From the Pastor: Bible Study 2011
Paul, James, Peter and John - who are these leaders of the early church? What were they like, and what did they do? Why did they write letters to the early Christian church? Who were the recipients of their letters? How do their letters help us, and what do their letters teach us?

Last year, I led Bible Study sessions that took us through major themes and significant verses of scripture. Titled E-l 00 (which stands for the "The Essential 100" verses of the Bible) we examined biblical passages from Genesis in the Old Testament through the Book of Acts in the New Testament.

allowing a visitor to leisurely walk the same roads and paths through towns and countryside that Jesus walked. I can only imagine how fascinating that might be.

This year we will conclude our survey of scripture by studying the New Testament epistles (letters). Specifically, we'll be reading and learning from Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, James, I Peter, and I John. This will provide us with a good overview of these men, their mission, and their message. We will meet on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m., and the dates of the first four sessions are:

June 13 June 27 July 11 July 25

Every other Monday will work best because June 20th is VBS, July 4th is the holiday, and July 18th is part of the youth Mission Work week. Prior to the July 25th session, additional sessions will be scheduled for dates and times most convenient for the bible study participants.

OPEN TO ALL - COME BE PART OF IT - TRY IT OUT!

Yours in Christ,
